You can optimize your IRC experience with a few simple configurations. The following configurations to your client application are recommended:
- Fonts. Set your programs options to display text in a large, easy to read font.
- Nicknames. You will need to chose a nickname for your identity on IRC. Chose a name that will be unique. On DALnet nicknames can only be owned by one person, so you have to register a unique name.
- Display options. Set your program options so it doesn’t display messages when people join and leave the channel, since these messages frequently interrupt the conversation. Check your program preferences or settings to find this option.
