MUD Clients

Your client application provides your user interface to the MUD server. You access MUD's with your client application, a program you run on your computer which takes care of all communication with the MUD server. The client accepts your input and transmits it across the Internet to the server, and then receives feedback from the server and displays it on your local computer.

More and more MUD clients are providing multimedia enhancements, including sounds, text-to-speech, icons, alerts, and other features. The section on MUD client applications provides more information.
