You can connect
to most MUD's over the Internet with a simple Telnet
program, which is how many were orginally accessed. However, Telnet
applications may not wrap text around onto the next line very well, and incoming
messages might get printed in the middle of a message that you are typing,
so it provides a basic capability at best.
There
are a range of specialized MUD client applications that solve the interface problems
with Telnet, and also provide extra capabilities such as enabling you to run
macros,
highlight certain types of information, and other features. The following
resources provide access to MUD client applications.
